Our Program

What we actually do

Four barriers keep community organizations from reaching and keeping the trust of the people they serve. We work on all four, at no cost, for a small number of partners at a time.

Our Program

Four barriers, and what we do about them

An organization can be doing everything right and still be unreachable. Usually it comes down to one of these.

Being Found

Hours, locations, eligibility, how to actually get help. We build the place that information lives, so a neighbor searching at 11pm finds a real answer instead of a dead Facebook page.

Staying Online

A site that lapses helps nobody. We carry the hosting, domain, and security for what we build, and we keep carrying it, so the information is there next year too.

Reaching Everyone

Translation, plain language, and accessibility, so information reaches people who don't read English or who use a screen reader. For organizations we can't take on fully, we share what we know so they can do this themselves.

Showing the Work

Public, plain-language reporting of what an organization took in and what it gave back. Small charities are held to the same trust standard as large ones without the staff to meet it, so we build the tools that let them show their numbers openly instead of asking to be taken on faith.

How It Works

How a partnership starts

We're small and we say so early, which means you get a straight answer quickly either way.

01

Tell Us Who You Serve

Who is your community, and what is stopping them from reaching you? That's the part we need to understand.

02

We're Honest About Capacity

If we can take you on, we'll say what we'll do and roughly when. If we can't, we'll say that too and point you somewhere useful rather than leaving you waiting.

03

We Get to Work

We build, launch, and stay involved. The organizations we work with aren't handed a site and left with it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. We're a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) and our work is funded by donations and volunteer time, not by the organizations we help. There are no fees, no contracts, and nothing is asked in return.

Who is eligible?

Any nonprofit or community group serving the public good. Because we're volunteer-run and take few partners at a time, we give priority to organizations serving communities facing the steepest barriers, including immigrant and non-English-speaking neighborhoods, and to those providing direct services like food, shelter, and health care.

How long does it take?

It depends on the work and on how much volunteer time we have. We'll give you an honest estimate once we understand what's needed, and we'd rather quote long and deliver than the reverse.

What if I need changes after launch?

Reach out and we'll help. We don't consider a partnership finished at launch, though how fast we can respond depends on volunteer capacity at the time.

Is your community missing you online?

If the people you serve are struggling to find you, tell us. No cost, and an honest answer either way.
